Hailed for her shimmering coloratura, versatile singer and actress, Olivia Lyon Barker, is
currently a DMA Candidate and Teaching Assistant at UCSB. She holds a Master’s in
Voice from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor’s in Vocal Arts from
USC Thornton School of Music. She was seen at UCSB as the Queen of the Night/
Papagena in the UCSB Production of The Magic Flute, which later collaborated with the
New York City Opera Outreach Program. She has been lauded for her performances in
Later the Same Evening, Threepenny Opera, and Pirates of Penzance, where she won Best
Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Mabel.

An active performer in the community, she has been seen in the chorus of Opera Santa Barbara’s productions of
Zorro, Carmen, Il Trovatore, Tosca, and La Traviata, and frequently performs with Frankie
Valli’s long-time music director, Robby Robinson. Olivia also has a passion for outreach,
and toured with composer Eric Genuis throughout the West Coast for his Concerts for
Hope series in prisons, rehab centers, and inner-city at-risk schools.
